Investment Requirements for Malta Permanent Residence Program (MPRP)

To get Malta permanent residency, you must meet specific investment rules set by the government of Malta. As of June 2025, you have two main investment options:

  • Property Purchase: You need to buy a property in Malta for at least €375,000. You must keep this property for at least five years.
  • Property Rental: You can rent a property for a minimum of €14,000 per year. This rental agreement must last for five years.

Other  Payments

  • Government Administrative Fee: This fee is €50,000.
  • Government Contribution: If you buy property, this is €30,000. If you rent, it’s €60,000.
  • Charitable Donation: You must donate €2,000 to a Maltese non-profit group.
  • Proof of Assets: You need to show you have at least €500,000 in total assets. At least €150,000 of this must be in financial assets, meaning cash or bonds.
